Amar Anumakonda, PhD, MBA
Amar Anumakonda brings more than 30 years of experience in innovation, technology commercialization, and product development across both corporate and university research environments. In his current role with the University of Utah's Technology Licensing Office (TLO), he manages a diverse portfolio of technologies originating from the Colleges of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
Amar is an inventor on several patents related to renewable energy and biofuels and played a key role in the commercial launch of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), renewable fuels, and specialty chemicals at Honeywell International. He also led the commercialization of sustainable packaging solutions and renewable inks at HAVI. Prior to joining the University of Utah, Amar supported technology commercialization and startup formation at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he worked closely with faculty and researchers across engineering and physical sciences disciplines and helped launch multiple startups, mentored inventors and entrepreneurs, and guided innovations from laboratory discovery to market impact.
Amar holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
