Jungkyu (Jay) Kim

Jungkyu (Jay) Kim is an associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Utah. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah and subsequently completed postdoctoral training at UC Berkeley. Prior to joining the University of Utah, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University. His current research topics include organ chip models of the ocular system and kidney, bioelectronics and biosensors for ultra-sensitive biological and chemical analysis, and space instruments for astrobiology and astronaut health monitoring using microsystems. He has a dozen filed and issued patents related to his research fields. He serves as an editorial board member for several scientific journals.
