Brief Summary
Longitudinal dataset featuring comprehensive data for 157 patients with a minimum 1-year follow-up.
Problem Statement
Orthopedic surgeons with hand fellowship training have created a clinical data set of patients that underwent trapeziectomy with ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition (LRTI). This data set includes a total of 223 patients (238 thumbs) with 157 patients (169 thumbs) completing a minimum of one-year of follow-up. This high-quality dataset can provide real-world evidence that can potentially be used as a comparator cohort to reduce the time to study completion, decrease regulatory risk, and accelerate a product to the market.
Deidentified longitudinal data available for each patient with complete preop and one-year follow-up includes:
- Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) score
- VAS pain & patient satisfaction score
- Grip strength measures (lateral pinch, 3 point pinch, 2 point pinch)
- Coordination Nine-Hole Peg (NHP)
Benefit
- Accelerated product development and expedited time-to-market by decreasing the time required to generate a study control arm.
- Data set was the basis for a publication in a top peer-reviewed orthopedic journal (as measured by Impact Factor)
- Data collected under IRB approved protocol and registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT01425034).
