The University of Utah is excited to host its first NSF I-Corps™ in-person programming on Oct. 2 with its new instructor and award-winning Utah I-Corps™ team.
The team recently received the “Spirit of I-Corps™” award at the annual Hub West all-hands meeting. The award recognizes the Utah I-Corps™ team’s success over the past year as they have reorganized and built Utah’s I-Corps™ program from the ground up.
“We all jumped in feet first and bootstrapped the entire team. We went from zero teams to having our own instructor and inviting other Utah universities to join,” said Utah I-Corps™ Associate Director Amy Graham. “Our efforts to be innovative and creative in running our program represent the spirit of I-Corps™.”
The team hopes to continue building on their success with the return of in-person ZAP cohorts taught by Eric Johnson. Classes for the October cohort will be held Oct. 2, 9 and 16 and are open to innovators (graduate students and research faculty) from any research or teaching institution. The first class on Oct. 2 will be in person in the Research Administration Building from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and lunch will be provided. The following classes will be held on Zoom.
In the free ZAP classes, you will gain real-world insights into your technology by interacting with potential customers. You will leave the three classes with actionable data and a refined value proposition.
